House Update

I've been out to check on the progress of our new home a few times since my last update. There has been a lot done that will not be seen once we move in such as wiring, plumbing, and ducting. Very important parts of the house puzzle, but stuff I don't know too much about...if you want details on any of those systems, you'll have to talk to Carl! While waiting for the weather to improve enough to build the garage and then complete the roof (no more snow, please!), Carl has been doing as much as he can in the basement and has completed almost all of the drywall other than the walls around the stairs. Its pretty cool to stand in my future laundry room, feel how much space the kids will have to play in the basement, and imagine living there. The kids, dogs, and I had fun visiting on Saturday before the snow his on Sunday. I'm really excited to see how different the house will look once the garage goes up and the roof and siding can go on. The wall of windows at the back of the house will also be ordered soon...I can't wait to see how amazing that will be when it's put in!

House Tour

We visited our new home again today and I decided it was time to do a video tour since you can go in and out of rooms and all now. Part one shows the main floor and part 2 shows the basement. Still lots to do, but loving the progress!

We have rooms!

The kids and I visited our new home yesterday to see the progress from the last few weeks. With much of the interior framing done on the main floor, it really feels like its coming together now. You can get a good sense of space in all the bedrooms and the 2 bathrooms. Carl is putting lofts in the kids' rooms and in the master above the closets. The floor of the master loft is on so we climbed up to check it out. It will be a lot of fun having these "secret" spaces!

Taking shape

The kids and I were able to go out and see the progress on the new house today. With the exterior walls going up, you can see the house from the street as you drive up. It also helps that the giant piles of dirt from the excavation are almost gone as most of it is back in the hole that was left around the house. Carl took me around and pointed out some details like where the dryer exhaust vent is and where the air conditioner will be. There's a long way to go yet, but our new home is taking shape!

House Update

The kids and I took a ride out to the new house yesterday to check out the progress. With the subfloor installed and floor plan marked out, you can really get a feel for what the finished product will be like. Olivia enjoyed crawling around in her future room and Andrew got to run around in the basement. I was able to start picturing all of the ideas I've pinned on Pinterest. Each step closer makes me more anxious to see the next and more excited to move in when it's ready!
