Getting Sweaty & Fueling the Fire

Fitness and healthy eating play a large role in my life.  My certifications include ACE Group Fitness Instructor, Turbo Kick and PiYo Certified Instructor, and NSCA Certified Personal Trainer.  Currently, I enjoy teaching 7 group fitness classes(Turbo Kick and PiYo) each week.  I thrive on the accountability of working out in a group as well as connecting personally with my participants.  Regardless of where we all are on our fitness journey, it is amazing to see the support and encouragement that exercising in a group provides.  In my classes, I like to push people to work harder so they may continue to see improvements in strength, cardiovascular capacity, flexibility, balance, and overall well-being.

While I encourage anyone to try exercising in a group environment, I realize that might not be right for everyone.  That's why I decided to add Beachbody Coach to my resume.  Having done many of the workouts offered by Beachbody myself, I feel good recommending them to others who are looking for a safe and effective workout they can do from home or on the road.  Beachbody is also the creator of Shakeology, a whole food nutritional supplement that helps me make ends meet (nutritionally speaking) and has brought me increased energy and the need to share it with anyone willing to try it!

Eating well is another priority area I am always working on and trying to impart on my family.  Since we're busy, like pretty much everyone, I like to find quick, healthy, tasty, and affordable recipes to prepare.  I have fun trying out my own creations, and Carl isn't shy to tell me which ones he'd eat again and those I should erase from memory!  As a long-time picky eater, I knew that it would be important to expose our children to a wide variety of food and tastes from a young age.  This strategy had proven effective with our son, Andrew.  He will eat (or at least try) just about anything we put in front of him and likes a vast majority of items that we offer.  Some of his favorites: tomatoes, peas, broccoli, salmon, strawberries, peaches, green beans, cheese, yogurt, and chocolate.
